Job description
About the Position
We are looking for a Lead Java Software Engineer to join a cutting-edge AI project enabling Conversational AI for Service Desk request submission, replacing manual catalog form-filling with intelligent guided chat that saves requestors time, reduces friction and eliminates guesswork. You will contribute to building a fully integrated AI ecosystem spanning a Service Catalog Knowledge Base, a Frontdesk Agent and submission-specific agents connected to live enterprise service catalog data, delivering RAG pipelines, ETL processes and multi-agent systems that bridge intelligent agents and real-world ITSM workflows.
Responsibilities
- Build the React chat frontend as the primary interface through which users submit service requests via guided conversation rather than manual form-filling
- Develop the central Frontdesk Agent to handle user intent classification and routing along with the agent hub that orchestrates communication across the multi-agent system using Spring AI AgentCore
- Design and maintain the ETL pipeline to extract and transform ServiceNow Service Catalog metadata, index it into AWS Bedrock Knowledge Bases and keep it current as the catalog evolves
- Establish and implement the reusable agent framework, including capability templates, tool definitions, prompt scaffolding and the agentic conversion workflow that all item-specific agents are built on top of
- Implement individual agents for specific catalog items using the shared framework, with each agent handling the end-to-end submission flow for its assigned request type including ServiceNow API integration
- Instrument agent interactions and LLM calls end-to-end with OpenTelemetry and Dynatrace
- Uphold high standards of code quality, testability and documentation while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to maximize productivity
- Lead and mentor team members while guiding architectural decisions across the project
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering including 2+ years in a technical leadership role
- Proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) for backend engineering
- Practical experience building on AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway and S3
- Familiarity with AWS IAM and KMS for access management and security
- Solid grounding in LLM/AI engineering fundamentals including prompt design, RAG pipelines and agentic patterns, tool use and LLM evaluation
- Hands-on experience with Spring AI LLM orchestration framework or similar frameworks
- Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock AgentCore and Knowledge Bases or similar managed RAG/vector services
- Experience with Docker, Git and Terraform
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines
- Capability to make decisions, resolve ambiguity and unblock themselves through documentation and experimentation
- English proficiency at B2+ level or above
Nice to Have
- Flexibility to use React.JS for building and iterating on a chat UI
- Skills in Python for scripting automation
- Familiarity with ServiceNow Service Catalog
We Offer
- Opportunity to work on a cutting-edge AI project
- Remote work from Ukraine
- Be part of a dynamic and innovative team
