About the Position

Lead Operational Risk Management (NFR) @ING Hubs Romania

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team in Bucharest, Romania, as a Lead Operational Risk Management (NFR). This role is integral to ING’s Non-Financial Risk domain, ensuring consistent implementation of NFR frameworks, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop direct reports;
• Collaborate with the Head of ORM and CoE-Leads to set strategy and steer priorities;
• Work on ORM priorities such as policies, deep dives, and NFRD across different ORM risk areas;
• Implement ORM policies and regulatory requirements globally;
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure ING’s compliance;
• Drive simplification and implement risk-based approaches in ORM processes;
• Collaborate with IT Risk specialists to improve ING’s non-financial risk position.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Economics, Econometrics, or Engineering;
• Extensive experience and knowledge of ORM across areas such as TIPM, Operational Resilience, Fraud, PARP, PPS, and Processing Risk;
• Experience challenging 1LoD globally and locally;
• Proven track record in policy and procedure rollout, change management, and simplification;
• Experience working in cross-country teams;
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and delivery skills;
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management;
• Deep knowledge of relevant regulations;
• Ability to simplify risk processes and influence stakeholders;
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work across geographies.
