Job description

About the Position

Legal Solution Engineer (Leipzig)

Leipzig, hybrid

Legartis has a mission: to make legal work scalable.

We set the standard for AI-powered contract work. Today, we are building a holistic platform that changes how legal departments work, from review to negotiation, driven by our Legal Agent. We are looking for the person who will show legal departments, even before the signature, what their own work looks like with Legartis: with their contracts, their standards, and their questions.

At Legartis, you don't just take a job, you take on responsibility. We are a team of product developers and legal professionals. We don't chase hypes, we build substance.

Responsibilities

Your role is neither a classic legal role nor a classic sales role. You are the legal and technical voice in sales: you understand how a legal department works, translate this into a solution on our platform, and prove it works in trials.

1. Discovery and Solution Design. Together with our Account Executives, you will conduct conversations with General Counsels, Legal Ops, and legal departments. You will ask the tough questions: which contracts, which law, which questions keep coming up, where is time lost today? From this, you will design a concrete solution: which Quick Actions, which Playbooks, which workflows, which integrations. The result is a solution proposal that the customer can represent internally.

2. Demos that Convince. You will build and maintain demos that create a real "Wow" moment, with documents and questions that the customer recognizes. You will adjust them live if something doesn't work, and turn a skeptical question into a stronger result.

3. Trials and Proofs of Concept that Convert. You will plan and conduct trials with clear success criteria that you agree with the customer beforehand. The customer works with their real cases, you accompany and coach. At the end, there is a measurable result and the next step: rollout discussion, workshop, offer.

4. Trust in Security, Data Protection, and AI Governance. You will answer security and data protection questions as well as questions about the EU AI Act confidently and honestly, together with our security and technical experts. You know when an answer from the library is enough and when a conversation is necessary.

5. Handover and Feedback. After the signature, you will hand over to Customer Success and Legal Engineering with everything they need: use cases, success criteria, expectations, open points. What you hear in the market (objections, missing features, competition), you will bring to Product and Marketing in a structured manner.

6. Making it Scalable. What you build once for a prospect becomes the standard: demo environments, demo scripts, response libraries, trial templates. This way, sales can also tell the legal story when you are not in the room.

Requirements

We are honest: people who bring all this are rare. We hire based on aptitude and attitude, practically test in a case study, and train the rest side by side, in real customer conversations.

1. You can sell a solution (centrally). Not in the sense of cold calling, but as a good expert sells: by making the customer successful in front of their own team. Specifically, this means you can (or want to learn):

  • Conduct Discovery that finds the real need behind the first question, and reflect this in the customer's words (time, risk, capacity, cost per contract).
  • Conduct a Live Demo confidently, even adapted and with high stakes, and react sovereignly if something doesn't work immediately.
  • Turn Objections into Use Cases. To "That doesn't fit with us" or "We build it ourselves," you respond with a concrete path and the honest costs of the alternative. You name limits openly, because credibility closes deals.
  • Set up a Trial so that it decides: clear success criteria, involved persons, schedule, next step.
  • Ideally, you can name moments when you influenced a deal, an extension, or an expansion.

2. Legal Foundation. Solid legal education and practical experience with commercial contracts, from a legal department, a law firm, or the legal tech environment. You understand the "why" behind a clause and speak with General Counsels on an equal footing. A second state exam is welcome, but not required. Qualifications from other legal systems and unusual paths (e.g., law and IT) are expressly desired.

3. Technical Understanding. You have worked seriously with large language models and know how to use them purposefully and where they reach their limits. You understand enough about SaaS, integrations (e.g., Word, CLM, SSO), APIs, and data flows to speak with the customer's IT and correctly classify a security question. You don't have to program, but curiosity about technology is mandatory.

4. Structure and Communication. You manage multiple deals in parallel, keep track of stakeholders, and document cleanly (CRM, handovers). You write so clearly that a solution proposal is understood without you. Very good German and English, other languages are a plus.

We Offer

  • Impact instead of Hype. You shape a new discipline at the intersection of law, sales, and AI and decide together how thousands of legal professionals will work in the future.
  • Leverage instead of Mill. You build the demos, standards, and templates that multiply your expertise across the company.
  • We Invest in You. Structured training to become a Legal Agent, joint customer appointments from the first week, and a clear development path.
  • Real Participation. Competitive salary and employee participation (ESOP).
  • Offices in Berlin, Leipzig, and Zurich with a flexible hybrid model, plus Apéros, shared lunches, and hikes.

Process

  1. Get to Know Us: a conversation with our People & Operations Manager.
  2. Deepen with our General Counsel & Head of Legal AI about Legal Solution Engineering at Legartis.
  3. Case Study: Discovery conversation and demo for a realistic customer scenario, including a skeptical General Counsel and a security question.
  4. Meet the Team in our Leipzig office.
  5. Joint Decision, and we welcome you on board.
