About the Position

Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Coordinator

Project Name: Pasifika WE-Guardians & EmpowerHER projects

Job type: Full time Employee

Location of Position: Suva, Fiji with travel to project sites

Reporting to: Field Project Managers

Remuneration: In line with market rates

Time Frame: One year renewable contract

Citizenship: Pacific Island citizens or permanent residents are encouraged to apply

Language Requirements: Excellent command of English, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support routine data collection, validation, analysis, and secure storage of project information and performance data based on project workplans.
  • Support the implementation of data collection tools and methodologies, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess project progress, outcomes, and emerging lessons.
  • Support the MEL capacity of implementing partners and project teams in MEL processes and evidence-based reporting.
  • Coordinate with implementing partner MEL focal points to facilitate timely data collection, quality assurance, and reporting.
  • Support the use of MEL approaches that are gender-responsive, participatory, and culturally-appropriate, including ethical data collection and management practices.
  • Provide quality assurance of data and information collected by project staff and implementing partners.
  • Support the projects’ knowledge and information systems, managing data related to project performance results.
  • Coordinate internal reporting activities (e.g., monthly, quarterly) from implementing partners and support quality assurance of reports.
  • Support project reviews, reflection activities, and evidence-based programming discussions, including operational arrangements as required.
  • Contribute to donor reporting processes by compiling and verifying MEL data and supporting the preparation of donor reporting (annual work plans and progress reports).
  • Support the development of project learning products (case studies, stories of changes, learning briefs, other knowledge products).
  • Support project teams as deemed necessary by project management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social development, information management, research, international studies, or similar areas.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing or implementing MEL systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical activities and effectively coordinate a diverse group of professionals in a harmonious manner.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent command of English, written and spoken, is mandatory.
  • Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the Pacific region as required.
