Über Kainjoo

Kainjoo is a content and brand network that produces editorial, social, and campaign work across a portfolio of brands. We move fast, care about craft, and ship a high volume of visual content. We’re looking for a freelance motion designer to bring our stories to life in motion & short-form social, brand explainers, and animated assets that feel on-brand across every property in the network.

The Role

You’ll take concepts, scripts, and static designs and turn them into polished motion pieces. This is a hands-on production role: you’ll own animation from storyboard to final export, working closely with our designers, editors, and content leads to meet brand and deadline requirements. Expect a mix of recurring social formats and one-off campaign work.

Responsibilities

Design and animate short-form video for social (Reels, TikTok, Shorts, LinkedIn), including motion graphics, kinetic typography, and transitions.
Turn static brand designs and storyboards into finished animated assets.
Produce explainer and brand videos from script or brief through to delivery.
Build and maintain reusable templates and animation presets to keep output fast and consistent.
Apply each brand’s visual identity - color, type, pacing, sound - accurately across deliverables.
Incorporate feedback efficiently and deliver clean, export-ready files on schedule.
Source, edit, and sync music and sound effects where needed.

Requirements

2/4 years of professional motion design experience, with a portfolio or reel that shows it.
Strong command of After Effects; comfortable with Premiere Pro for editing.
Solid grasp of animation principles & timing, easing, weight, and composition.
Good design fundamentals: typography, layout, colour, and brand consistency.
Experience producing for vertical/social formats and adapting assets across aspect ratios.
Self-directed, reliable with deadlines, and easy to collaborate with remotely.

Nice to Have

Illustration or 2D character animation skills.
3D (Cinema 4D, Blender) or expressions/scripting in After Effects.
Basic sound design or audio editing.
Familiarity with multi-brand or agency-style workflows.

Engagement Details

Freelance / contract, remote.
Flexible hours; project- or retainer-based depending on volume.
