About the Position

We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to manage firewall policies and ensure network security in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Review, assess, and approve enterprise firewall and network security requests (Port Opening Requests).
Provide security consultation and governance for internal/external network connections rather than performing direct firewall deployments.
Partner with DevOps, Infrastructure, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and OT teams to guide final solution designs.
Steward relationships with network connection owners to identify, understand, and mitigate security risks.
Support ongoing initiatives, including cloud migrations, tunnel migrations, and firewall rule consolidation/optimization.

Non-negotiable hands-on experience with Fortinet/FortiGate firewall policy management and rule governance.
Strong networking background covering TCP/IP environments, network authentication, encryption, and perimeter security.
Hands-on experience with site-to-site VPNs, IPsec, and network tunnels.
Hands-on exposure to cloud networking and security (AWS or Azure security groups, routing, and cloud firewalls).
Fluent English communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex security requirements to business and technical stakeholders.

Competitive salary range of $40/hr to $60/hr.
Contract position in Spring, TX (Onsite).
