About the Position
Operations Engineer (Linux)
Joining Keepit as an Operations Engineer, you will participate in a 24/7 operations team that operates, monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots our global cloud service operations. We have extensive installations throughout the world. Our focus is on ensuring reliable and predictable operations.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor logging, alerting, and monitoring to ensure system health, performance, and reliability
- Work on the development and extension of automation tooling to improve operational efficiency
- Provide support for both hardware and software systems
- Maintain and update documentation for daily operations and procedures
- Deploy, operate, and maintain Linux systems in a data center environment
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident root cause analysis
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to improve system stability, reliability, and performance
- Collaborate closely with the security team to design and implement new security solutions
- Support system upgrades, patching, and security updates across the infrastructure
- Contribute to capacity planning and performance optimization of infrastructure systems
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems
- Good understanding of networking concepts, including: TCP/IP / NAT / VLANs / Firewalls (nftables)
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong command-line proficiency
- Experience with automation tools and IaC, preferably Ansible and AWX
- Familiarity with the Grafana LGTM stack (Grafana, Mimir, Loki, Prometheus) is highly desirable
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to solve problems independently
- Self-discipline, creativity, and motivation for continuous learning
- Good verbal and written English skills (minimum B2 level)
Nice to Have
- Experience with Debian/Ubuntu environments
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL (administration, basic performance tuning, backups)
- Experience with Pacemaker / Corosync high-availability clustering
- Experience with containers and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 and ISAE 3402 standards
- CCNA certification or equivalent networking knowledge
