About the Position
Platform Automation & Observability Engineer
We are seeking a Platform Automation & Observability Engineer to lead the ideation, development, deployment, and operational support of our stakeholder and organizational dashboard-as-a-service platform. This role is focused on building, automating, and scaling metrics, KPIs, and reporting capabilities across multi-cloud environments. You will work at the intersection of telemetry, observability, AI/ML, and data integration - creating visibility and trust for both internal teams and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Core Engineering & Delivery
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards with integrations across multiple tools and environments
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting dashboard development and deployment
- Develop AI-powered chatbots and agents to handle information requests and reduce manual reporting burden
- Automate data ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines across enterprise tooling
Observability & Telemetry
- Instrument and maintain telemetry pipelines for system and service health visibility
- Define and build operational dashboards for monitoring platform health and trending
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives driven by metrics and data analysis
Operations & Continuous Improvement
Integrations & Tooling
- Integrate enterprise platforms (ServiceNow, Jira, cloud-native services) into centralized reporting systems
- Build reusable connectors and data models enabling rapid onboarding of new data sources
- Support self-service dashboard capabilities for teams across the organization
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, cloud platform, and line-of-business teams to align on data needs and reporting requirements
- Support audit and compliance requirements through reporting and data transparency
- Work across global teams and time zones
- Contribute to shared knowledge and enablement
Ownership & Delivery
- Independently own and deliver complex workstreams end-to-end
- Provide clear status, risk, and outcome reporting
- Contribute to strategic platform improvements, not just task execution
Requirements
Experience & Level
- 8–12+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, automation engineering, or observability/data engineering
- Proven track record delivering complex, automation-driven solutions at enterprise scale
- Hands-on experience building and operating dashboard or reporting platforms
Technical Expertise
- Strong experience with cloud workloads in at least one hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, or GCP); multi-cloud preferred
- Proficiency in Python (preferred), Go, or similar scripting/automation languages
- Experience with AI/ML tooling - including building agents and chatbots using tools like LangChain, or similar frameworks
- Deep familiarity with:
- Telemetry, observability, and logging pipelines
- CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
- Data integration patterns and API-driven automation
- Reporting and dashboard platforms (Grafana, Power BI, Tableau, custom-built, etc.)
- Operational Tooling
- ServiceNow (incident/request workflows)
- Jira (Agile delivery, KPI tracking)
- Git-based workflows
- Monitoring and alerting platforms
Ways of Working
- Strong data-driven problem-solving mindset
- Self-starting with the ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and complex systems
- Experience in Agile / continuous improvement environments
- Able to drive alignment across multiple stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Security tooling exposure (Wiz, Prisma, Orca, CrowdStrike, etc.) - familiarity is a plus, not a requirement
- Background in SRE or platform reliability practices
- Experience with asset inventory / ITAM integrations
- Exposure to SAP cloud environments or large enterprise programs
