Platform Engineer

About the Position

At Xpand IT, the Platform Engineering team designs and operationalizes the infrastructure that keeps all our solutions running fast and secure, ensuring systems are resilient and scalable from day one. Our primary focus is to simplify technology for our clients, managing the entire platform lifecycle from initial planning to full automation through code.

Your Role

As a Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in modernizing infrastructure, ensuring the stability and performance of complex ecosystems. Your focus will be:

• Designing and implementing scalable infrastructures across Cloud (Azure, Google Cloud, AWS) and On-prem environments;
• Automating provisioning and platform management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools;
• Managing and orchestrating containerized environments, ensuring high availability of services;
• Implementing rigorous security policies and monitoring practices to ensure system health;
• Collaborating with development and data teams to optimize deployment and application performance.

Stacks

• Cloud providers: Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS;
• Automation: Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation;
• Containers & orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes (AKS, GKE, EKS);
• Scripting: Bash and PowerShell.

Job Requirements

Academic Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Hands-on experience configuring and managing services across major Cloud Providers (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).

Automation (IaC)

• Proficiency in automation and provisioning tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

Operating Systems & Scripting

• Advanced knowledge of systems administration and automation capabilities via Bash or PowerShell.

Containers

• Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration (preferably managed flavors like AKS, EKS, or GKE).

Languages

• Mandatory fluency in both Portuguese and English (written and spoken).

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of CI/CD for infrastructure automation;
• Experience in migrating environments from On-prem to Cloud;
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools;
• Official Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps).
