About the Position
Principal Data Consultant with Azure
Join GFT Poland as a Principal Data Consultant with Azure to design and deliver modern data platforms and architectures that support advanced analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks
- Build and maintain modern data platforms on Microsoft Azure
- Design and implement semantic data models and semantic layers for analytics and reporting
- Develop data transformation and processing solutions using Databricks (PySpark/Spark)
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Lead technical discussions and provide architectural guidance to development teams
- Design and optimize data models for analytical and reporting solutions
- Ensure high standards of data quality, governance, metadata management, and security
- Automate data processing workflows and implement DataOps best practices
- Optimize the performance and cost of Azure-based data solutions
- Support and mentor engineers within the project team
Requirements
- At least 6 years of commercial experience as a Data Engineer, Lead Data Engineer, or Data Architect
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks
- 4+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure
- 4+ years of experience with Azure Data Factory
- Strong experience in data analysis and data modelling
- Experience designing and implementing semantic layers for analytical solutions
- Strong expertise in SQL
- Strong expertise in Python
- Experience with Spark / PySpark
- Experience designing modern analytical and data warehousing solutions
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders and leading technical discussions
- Excellent communication skills and experience in client-facing environments
Nice to Have
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik, or Apache Superset
- Experience in consulting environments
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric
