About the Position
Join Black & Veatch as a Process Engineer Intern for Wastewater treatment systems. Contribute to impactful projects and gain hands-on experience.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, design, evaluation, and optimization of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment systems, including biosolids and residuals management, nutrient removal, sludge and sidestream treatment, advanced treatment technologies, and emerging contaminant management (PFAS, microplastics, etc).
- Perform a variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs.
- Prepare basic calculations.
- Assist in basic equipment selection.
- Schedule project deliverables.
- Collect, organize, and evaluate data.
Requirements
- No experience required. Current enrollment in an ABET accredited university in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Prior internship experience in water/wastewater preferred.
- Wastewater treatment engineering / design, chemical/physical principles, water chemistry courses preferred.
- Experience in P&ID/PFD preferred.
- Learning on the Fly, Problem Solving, Intellectual Horsepower, Written Communications, Drive For Results, Informing, Listening, and Dealing with Ambiguity.
