Product Design Intern, 2027 Summer U.S.

About the Position

Join Atlassian as a Product Design Intern for the 2027 Summer U.S. program. Gain hands-on experience in technical design, mentorship, and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Apply strong interaction, visual, and systems-design craft to turn ambiguous customer problems into simple, accessible product experiences across Atlassian products.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and senior designers to understand customer needs, evaluate technical constraints, and make informed design decisions.
• Use research insights, product data, technical prototyping, and usability testing to explore assumptions, iterate quickly, and improve the quality of shipped experiences.
• Contribute to design systems, patterns, and documentation while learning how AI and connected teamwork shape modern collaboration at scale.

Requirements

• Able to commit to a 12-week full-time (40hrs/week) program during Summer 2027
• Currently enrolled full-time in a 4-year bachelor's or 2-year master's degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship, graduating by June 2028
• Please note: At this time, this role is only open to entry-level candidates with less than a year of professional experience (this does not include internships/co-ops)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with user-focused design
• Demonstrate the ability to plan while juggling multiple simultaneous projects
• Experience collaborating with team members, like engineers and product managers, and other designers
