Product Manager, Rovo

About the Position

We are seeking a Product Manager with a passion for AI-powered conversational experiences and a track record of building intelligent, scalable SaaS products. This role will focus on driving the vision, strategy, and execution of Rovo Chat, Atlassian's AI-driven conversational interface that helps teams discover knowledge, take action, and work smarter across their entire digital workplace.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Vision and Roadmap

  • Contribute to and execute the product vision and roadmap for Rovo Chat, aligning with Atlassian's AI strategy and user needs.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to grow Chat adoption and engagement (MAU), balancing user value with measurable business outcomes.

• Conversational AI Experiences

  • Drive the development of intelligent chat experiences that connect users to knowledge across first-party (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) and third-party (Google Drive, Slack, GitHub, Salesforce, etc.) sources.
  • Advance multi-turn conversation quality, context awareness, memory, and proactive assistance.

• Cross-Functional Execution

  • Partner with engineering, design, data science, GTM, and enterprise teams to deliver features from ideation through launch and iteration.
  • Operate with program-level rigor: run shiprooms, manage action items, and hold teams accountable to deadlines and quality bars.

• Quality, Trust, and Measurement

  • Define and monitor success metrics for Chat quality (accuracy, groundedness, user satisfaction) and adoption.
  • Champion responsible AI practices, ensuring safe, transparent, and inclusive conversational experiences.

Requirements

• Experience: 3-5 years as a Product Manager or in a similar role, with exposure to AI/ML-powered products, conversational systems, or search experiences.
• AI/ML Proficiency: Uses AI tools daily as a working method, not a novelty. Can prompt, iterate, and evaluate AI outputs to draft specs, analyze data, synthesize research, create prototypes, and unblock decisions without waiting for someone else to set it up.
• Technical Understanding: Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts including LLMs, RAG pipelines, and conversational systems. Comfortable collaborating with data scientists and engineers on technical approaches.
• SaaS Experience: Experience building and scaling SaaS products, ideally in collaboration, productivity, or developer tooling domains.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and influencing skills, able to work effectively across customers, engineering, design, and leadership.
• Requirements Translation: Skilled at gathering, prioritizing, and translating customer and business requirements into product strategies.
