Project Director – Construction

About the Position

We are seeking a Project Director for Construction in Luanda, Angola. Our customer is a global company, a developer of large construction projects in Angola, related to Housing, Social Equipment’s, and Infrastructures. They are looking to recruit exceptional professionals to develop their career in our Project Management team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-scale projects of Housing, Public Buildings, and Infrastructures construction through all phases of design, permitting, construction, and delivery.
• Provide leadership for the project management function by managing, coordinating, and developing company staff and third-party project managers.
• Represent the company and interact with governmental/official entities and stakeholders.
• Monitor projects for compliance with company objectives, schedule, budget, quality, and safety.

Requirements

• Autonomy and Decision-Making Capacity: Must exhibit initiative, commitment, and a strong desire to achieve results.
• Communication: Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Contract Management: Superior contract management competence is a must.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills are necessary, along with a personality that pays attention to details.
• Complexity Management: Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and must be organizationally/politically astute.
• Team Management: Demonstrated ability to build relationships and motivate teams of people.
• Staff Management: Demonstrated ability to manage staff and a strong understanding of the entire corporate real estate function.

Education and Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in direct management of large, complex construction and real estate projects.
• Languages: Fluency in English and Portuguese.

• Salary: $7,000 - $8,500 per month
