Project Director - Water/Wastewater

About the Position

We are seeking a Project Director for Water/Wastewater to lead business growth in the Mid Atlantic South area.

Responsibilities

• Establish and/or maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Develop new business.
• Provide oversight of projects and Engineering Managers.
• Work directly with managers in developing business growth strategies.
• Drive growth in assigned strategies and support other Project Directors.
• Support other areas of the business where individual experience aligns.
• Lead team efforts for marketing, strategy development, prospect identification, proposal development, client presentations, project budgeting, and contracting.
• Represent Black & Veatch and support brand recognition in the water industry.
• Accountable for new business objectives.
• External focus to interact with assigned clients and promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities.

Requirements

• 20+ years business development and project management experience; wastewater and water technical engineering experience.
• PE required; Bachelor's degree in technical discipline.
• Proven technical understanding of wastewater and water markets.
• Strong sales traits, including tenacity and competitiveness.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills.
• Ability to interface with diverse personalities.
• Ability to think strategically and create persuasive messages.
• Contract negotiating skills, including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing, and payment terms.
• Understanding of budgets and financial metrics.
• Self-starter and ability to make decisions independently.
• Ability to meet deadlines and be flexible to multiple demands of project teams and shifting priorities.
• Problem-solving and leadership skills.
