About the Position
We're looking for a Project/Delivery Manager – Financial Services (m/f/d) to join our team in Frankfurt and surrounding areas, Germany in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will plan, manage and deliver large-scale programs within the financial services domain across core banking transformations, payments modernization, regulatory compliance initiatives and digital banking programs. You will ensure alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory expectations, driving end-to-end delivery, fostering strong client relationships and achieving measurable business results.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of financial services programs including core banking transformation, payments modernization and regulatory implementation initiatives
- Define delivery scope, objectives and success criteria in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders
- Oversee resource allocation, schedules and budgets to meet deadlines and cost targets
- Drive delivery governance and reporting to ensure oversight and compliance with regulatory frameworks
- Identify and mitigate delivery risks including operational resilience and third-party dependencies
- Lead stakeholder communication throughout all delivery phases to ensure transparency and alignment
- Support account growth by identifying new engagement opportunities within financial services clients
- Mentor project teams to enhance capability, collaboration and adherence to best practices
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in project or delivery management with significant involvement in financial services
- Strong understanding of banking processes, payments and European regulatory requirements including MiFID II, DORA, PSD2/3 and Basel IV
- Proven ability to manage large, complex transformation programs in FS using agile, waterfall or hybrid delivery models
- Experience in risk management, governance and budgeting for regulated environments
- Familiarity with AI-driven initiatives and emerging technologies in FS contexts
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and client-facing skills
- Fluency in English and German
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Technology or related field
Nice to Have
- Experience with core banking platforms (Temenos, Finastra) or capital markets systems (Murex, Calypso)
- Exposure to cloud migration projects in FS regulated settings (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe or FS credentials (FRM, CFA, CAMS)
