About the Position
Python Developer – API & Data Integration
Experience: 6+ years
Location: Canada - Remote

We are looking for a developer with strong Python, SQL, Azure/AWS, and API Integration experience to build applications, APIs, and data pipelines, while supporting application onboarding, authorization, and security solutions with exposure to Databricks or Snowflake.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support Python-based applications, integrations, automation workflows, and data processing solutions.
- Build and maintain data ingestion and integration pipelines using Python, SQL, Databricks, and/or Snowflake.
- Develop, manage, and integrate RESTful APIs to enable secure communication across enterprise applications and platforms.
- Collaborate with application teams to understand system architecture, data flows, and access requirements.
- Support application onboarding activities, including authentication, authorization, and access management integrations.
- Implement and maintain security policies, role-based access controls (RBAC), and data protection standards.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data validation processes.
- Deploy, monitor, and support solutions within Azure and/or AWS cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, security, and platform-related issues.
- Partner with business, platform, and security stakeholders to design and deliver scalable and secure enterprise solutions.
- Follow best practices for coding, testing, documentation, and operational support.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience developing applications and integrations using Python.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and database development.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and web services.
- Experience working with Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms.
- Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts such as OAuth, SSO, JWT, and RBAC.
- Experience building and supporting data integration and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

We Offer
- Compensation: We are offering an annual salary between $56,650-$103,000.
- Incentives: This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
