About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Python Engineer for a 6-month contract in Toronto, ON, with a possibility for extension. Responsibilities include designing and implementing software solutions independently.
Responsibilities
- Own timelines and deliverables, proactively managing scope, dependencies, and execution risks.
- Independently design and implement software solutions by engaging stakeholders to clarify requirements and challenge assumptions.
- Develop scalable, maintainable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and technology standards.
- Drive implementation across the full software development lifecycle, from design through production deployment.
- Ensure solutions are production-ready with thorough documentation, testing, and handover.
- Act as a reliable execution partner, escalating risks and issues early when required.
- Operate effectively in ambiguous environments with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Requirements

Must-Haves:
- Strong Python development experience in enterprise environments.
- Proven ability to deliver independently without close supervision and operate effectively in ambiguous problem spaces.
- Prior consulting, advisory, or client-facing delivery experience.
- Experience owning solutions end-to-end in complex, loosely defined problem areas.
- Agile/Scrum experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git.
- Hands-on cloud experience (AWS preferred).
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong unit and integration testing experience.

Plusses / Nice-to-Haves:
- Web or dashboard development experience with Dash, Angular, or React.
- BI and reporting experience (Amazon QuickSight preferred).
- Capital markets, portfolio management, or investment management domain knowledge.
- Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform.
- Familiarity with Jupyter notebooks for analysis, modeling, and reporting.
We Offer
- Compensation: $90-$95/hour
- Location: Toronto, ON - 4 days on-site
- Shift/Core Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Start Date: ASAP
- Interview Process: 2 Rounds (1-Virtual and 1-In person)
