Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements
About the Position
We are seeking a QA Engineer with a strong foundation in functional testing and hands-on automation experience to join our analytics product team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of an analytics platform by validating data workflows, dashboards, reports, and web UI functionality. The ideal candidate should have strong manual testing experience with data-intensive applications, good SQL skills, and experience with web UI automation using Selenium or Playwright.
Location: Bangalore (Hybrid/Remote)
Responsibilities
Functional & Manual Testing
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for analytics and business applications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Validate dashboards, reports, charts, search, sorting, and filtering functionality.
- Perform data validation using SQL queries and API responses.
- Create test cases and test scenarios based on business requirements.
- Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to validate feature implementations.
- Participate in sprint planning, test execution, and release sign-off.
Automation Testing
- Develop and maintain web UI automation scripts using Selenium or Playwright.
- Contribute to the existing automation framework.
- Automate regression test suites for business-critical workflows.
- Follow automation best practices, including the Page Object Model (POM).
- Participate in automation code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer.
- Strong experience in manual testing of web-based business applications.
- Good SQL skills for database validation and data verification.
- Experience testing Data Warehouse (DWH), analytics, or reporting applications.
- Basic understanding of ETL processes and experience validating data flows between source and target systems.
- Experience creating test cases and test scenarios based on business requirements.
- Hands-on experience with web UI automation using Selenium or Playwright.
- Experience with any programming language used for automation (Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, etc.).
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to ETL testing.
- Experience with Python-based automation frameworks.
- Experience with API testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools is a plus but not mandatory.
