Job description
About the Position
A great QA engineer is one of the most valuable people on any delivery team - and at Kainjoo, you’ll prove that. You’ll be the last line of defence before things go live, and the person who keeps quality standards high across every project. You’ll work across SaaS platforms, dashboards, and web builds, and you’ll bring structure and rigour to every release.
Responsibilities
- Write and execute test plans covering functional, regression, and edge case scenarios
- Validate complex business logic against written specifications
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing
- Test responsive design and various network conditions
- Conduct basic performance and load testing to validate behaviour under expected traffic
- Apply security testing awareness (OWASP Top 10) during test cycles
- Document bugs clearly with reproduction steps, screenshots, and priority levels
- Collaborate with developers during the fix cycle and retest resolved issues
- Participate in UAT sessions with clients and triage feedback
- Sign off on pre-production and production deployments
Requirements
Personality
- You’re methodical and detail-oriented - you find the bugs others miss
- You’re not satisfied with “it works on my machine”
- You communicate bug reports clearly and without drama
- You work well with developers - you’re a collaborator, not an adversary
- You take go-live sign-offs seriously
Experience
- 2+ years of QA experience on web applications
- Strong ability to read specifications and translate them into test cases
- Experience with manual testing across browsers and devices
- Clear, precise bug reporting skills
- Understanding of REST APIs and ability to test via tools like Postman
- Basic familiarity with performance testing tools (k6, JMeter, or similar)
- Awareness of common web security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10)
Nice to Have
- Experience writing automated tests (Playwright, Cypress, or similar)
- Familiarity with accessibility testing (WCAG)
- Experience testing real-time features (WebSockets, live data)
- Background in testing both API-driven and CMS-based applications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience
- ISTQB or equivalent QA certification is a plus
- Fluent in English; French is a plus
