Robotics QA Engineer (ROS, Gazebo, Python & Jira)

About the Position

We are seeking a Robotics QA Engineer specializing in ROS, Gazebo, Python, and Jira to join our team in Lisbon, Portugal. This role is ideal for someone with 4-6 years of experience in robotics software development and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Validate robot behavior in simulation environments.
• Develop Python-based automated validation scripts.
• Execute and maintain regression test suites.
• Verify navigation, localization, obstacle avoidance, and safety-related functionality.
• Interact directly with ROS Topics, Services, and Actions during testing.
• Analyze ROS Bags, application logs, and simulation outputs to investigate defects and perform root cause analysis.
• Maintain structured test repositories and Jira test cycles, mapping releases against validation coverage.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in Quality Assurance for robotics software.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with ROS (ROS1 and/or ROS2).
• Familiarity with Gazebo / Ignition Gazebo.
• Experience with Jira.
• Knowledge of rospy and rclpy.
• Experience in Test automation and script development.
• Experience in Regression testing and release validation.
• English proficiency at level C1.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Xray.
• Experience with Zephyr.
• Knowledge of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) / AGVs.
• Experience with Fleet management systems.
• Knowledge of VDA 5050.
• Experience with SLAM validation.
