About the Position
We are looking for an SAP MDG Technical Architect/SME to shape and deliver a robust Material Master Data solution, translating functional needs into scalable technical designs and integrations. You will drive end-to-end solution quality across governance, workflow, rules, and data quality-apply now to help build reliable master data foundations.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end technical delivery of the SAP MDG solution for Material Master Data
- Translate functional specifications into MDG technical designs and system configuration
- Define and implement Change Request (DCR) create/change/extend processes for material data
- Design workflows and build BRF+ rules to enforce governance and approvals
- Extend MDG data models and specify custom developments with a clean-core mindset
- Architect and build integrations with SAP and non-SAP systems using APIs, IDocs, and web services
- Assess technical feasibility, propose alternatives, and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders
- Set and enforce technical quality standards for stability, scalability, and performance
- Implement data quality rules and monitor accuracy, completeness, and consistency with analytics
- Guide technical decisions and integration patterns in design authority forums
- Support testing cycles, diagnose gaps, and resolve defects to meet quality targets
- Collaborate with functional SMEs to refine requirements and align system behavior
- Create training materials and enable users and technical teams for effective adoption
Requirements
- 3+ years of SAP MDG/MDM experience in Material Master data
- Strong data governance experience across reference and master data
- Hands-on MDG configuration skills including Change Request (DCR) processes
- Proven workflow design experience and BRF+ rule development skills
- Solid data modeling skills and data model extension experience in SAP MDG
- Strong integration skills with SAP S/4HANA and SAP/non-SAP systems
- ABAP development experience for custom enhancements and clean-core extensions
- Strong data quality management skills and analytics-driven validation experience
- Strong security and compliance knowledge for master data in cloud or hybrid landscapes
- Strong stakeholder management skills to advise on feasibility and trade-offs
- Strong problem-solving skills for testing support, defect triage, and issue resolution
- Advanced English proficiency (C1, Advanced)
- Strong documentation and training skills to support user adoption
Nice to Have
- SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) experience for integration or analytics
- SAP PI/PO or SAP CPI experience for middleware-based integration
- Data migration and harmonization experience for master data domains
- AI-driven data quality tooling experience for automated validation
