Senior Accountant

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Accountant for Netcompany Banking Services in Warsaw, Poland. Responsibilities include managing financial reports, tax compliance, and collaborating with auditors.

Responsibilities

• Classify business transactions for VAT, CIT, and other tax implications, and ensuring their proper recording in the general ledger.
• Manage and oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare statutory and group financial reports.
• Report to external institutions (GUS, NBP, and other regulatory bodies).
• Cooperate with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities (Tax Office), and the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes.
• Identify accounting and tax risks, and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
• Participate in optimization and standardization projects within finance and controlling.

Requirements

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in finance and accounting, including experience in a senior role.
• Very good knowledge of tax regulations (VAT, CIT, WHT) and IFRS standards (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of period-end closing and financial reporting processes.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and financial systems/tools.
• Ability to analytically assess transactions and identify tax and accounting risks.
• Experience working with auditors and public institutions (Tax Office, Social Insurance Institution – ZUS, Central Statistical Office – GUS, National Bank of Poland – NBP).
• Highly developed organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
• Proactive attitude with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Very good command of English, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision).
• Experience in an audit environment or within an international organization will be a strong asset.
