Senior Analyst

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Analyst with 2-5 years of experience in consumer lending or fintech to join our Risk & Analytics team in a remote role. This position is part of Affirm's mission to reinvent credit, providing flexibility to consumers without hidden fees or compounding interest.

About the Risk & Analytics Team

The Risk & Analytics (R&A) team is integral to Affirm’s business strategy. We collaborate with various teams to optimize approval, conversion, losses, and profitability. Our work spans the entire customer and merchant lifecycle, addressing challenges from checkout conversion and fraud mitigation to international growth.

Responsibilities

• Optimize End-to-End Strategy: Leverage advanced data analytics to derive insights and optimize business, risk, or growth strategies.
• Manage Macro & Market Trends: Monitor portfolio performance and macroeconomic trends, adjusting strategies to mitigate risk and balance growth.
• Model & Capability Building: Partner with Engineering and Machine Learning teams to design and interpret performance metrics for scalable models.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to translate regulatory and market requirements into analytical policy and product design.
• Oversee Frameworks & Launches: Ensure new product launches align with risk appetite, operational capabilities, and local regulations.
• External & Strategic Alignment: Engage with external stakeholders to align practices, ensure compliance, and strengthen strategic relationships.
• AI Leverage & Mentorship: Build AI-assisted workflows and mentor junior analysts.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in an analytically driven role within consumer lending, credit, or fintech.
• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Deep expertise in data mining, data visualization, and statistical modeling.
• Experience applying machine learning techniques to business or risk management problems.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong understanding of consumer lending regulations and economic landscape.
• Exceptional communication skills to influence senior stakeholders.
