About the Position
We are looking for a strong Senior Automation Tester in Java to join our team.
In this role, you will play a key part in shaping a robust automation testing approach that ensures the quality and reliability of complex software products. You will collaborate with engineering teams to drive automation excellence and elevate overall testing maturity across projects.
Responsibilities
- Define the overall test strategy aligned with project goals and quality standards
- Determine tool configuration and setup to support automation testing activities
- Enhance the existing Katalon Studio framework to expand and improve automation coverage
- Design and add detailed test cases that capture functional and non-functional scenarios
- Propose efficient solutions to improve testing approaches, processes, and outcomes
- Execute test cases and validate results against expected outcomes
- Generate user-friendly test reports to communicate quality status to stakeholders
- Integrate Katalon Automation Reports with Polarion for centralized reporting and traceability
- Validate custom keywords to ensure correctness and reusability within automation scripts
- Implement the required setup for automation tooling and environments
- Establish test processes that support consistent and repeatable quality practices
- Define roles and responsibilities within the testing team to ensure clear ownership
- Train team members on automation tools, processes, and best practices
- Coach and support the team in applying automation effectively in their day-to-day work
- Transition automation knowledge and ownership to the team for long-term sustainability
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in automation testing
- Strong hands-on experience with automated testing in Java, Cucumber, and Selenium
- Practical experience integrating automation testing into DevOps pipelines
- Proven background implementing automation using Katalon Studio and Appium
- Experience working with TDD and BDD frameworks for test-driven and behavior-driven development
- Solid experience operating in a fast-paced Agile environment
- In-depth knowledge of Katalon, Bitbucket, GitLab, TeamCity, and Source Tree for source control, CI, and automation tooling
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (B2+ level or higher)
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with Atlassian Jira for managing tasks, defects, and agile workflows
- Background in Continuous Integration development and maintenance to support automated quality processes
- Experience with GUI testing for validating user interface behavior and consistency
- Familiarity with Postman for API testing and request validation
- Experience with web service and API test automation to verify backend integrations
- Previous experience working directly with clients in a delivery or consulting capacity
