Senior Backend Developer (Java)

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer (Java) to join our international team based in Warszawa. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving complex problems and a strong background in Java, Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing scalable backend systems and APIs
• Ensuring the quality, performance, and security of solutions
• Collaborating with product, analytics, and other technology teams in an international environment
• Identifying and resolving complex technical issues
• Conducting code reviews and actively improving the quality of the software
• Mentoring and supporting less experienced team members
• Influencing the direction of architecture and selecting tools and technologies
• Participating in technological decision-making and co-creating engineering standards

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

Main requirements:

• Over 7 years of experience in software development in Java
• Experience in designing and building distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Practical knowledge of REST API design and development
• Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases
• Familiarity with cloud environments (experience with GCP is a plus)
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Solid knowledge of design patterns and good engineering practices
• Experience in quality assurance (testing, code review, best practices)
• Very good knowledge of the English language (daily work in an international environment)

Nice to have:

• Experience with Java 21+
• Experience with other languages (e.g.,.NET, Python, Node.js)
• Experience with large-scale and high-availability systems
