Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to join our US/Israel-based company, which specializes in creating tailored AI assistances for non-profit organizations. You will work on AI-driven solutions for digital marketing automation and grant discovery, designed to empower organizations to optimize their online presence and funding opportunities through cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a fast-growing engineering team that builds a cutting-edge platform that makes a real impact in the world.
• Have a major role in building our amazing LLM-based system.
• Have a major role in designing and building our system and the way we work.
• Work closely with other functions in the company like product, customer success, and more.
• Build a 100% cloud-native containerized distributed system for 99.999% availability.
• Make a real impact.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience working as a backend engineer.
• 3+ years with Python (FastAPI) - Node.js is a plus.
• Passionate about building API-first systems with the latest technologies.
• Experienced with both REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Good knowledge of Google Cloud (preferable) or AWS.
• Experience with Postgres SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with proper CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
• Knowledge of the container world and distributed data centers (k8s).
• At least upper-intermediate level of English.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a startup environment.
• Experience working with LLM or a system based on ML.
• Experience with GenAI integration.

Interview Process

• Customer Interview (45 min).
• Technical Assessment Q&A (1h).
• Technical Assessment Practical - test task (4h) or live coding (1.5h).
