About the Position
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst who wants to work on complex data-driven initiatives across domains such as Travel, Financial Analytics, Life Sciences, and Healthcare. This role is for a mature BA who can connect business goals, data context, system behavior, and stakeholder expectations into clear solution direction and delivery-ready requirements. You may contribute to client opportunities across the USA, Europe, and the Middle East, as well as internal EPAM products and processes. The role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems, working with data-related topics, and helping teams deliver functionality, reports, and data outputs that create real business value.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and structure business requirements from stakeholders to ensure clear alignment between business needs and technical implementation.
- Translate business requirements into functional, system, and data-related requirements for delivery teams.
- Analyze business processes, user needs, and operational problems to identify improvement opportunities and support solution design.
- Collaborate with engineering, data, BI, QA, and delivery teams to clarify business logic, data dependencies, reporting needs, and validation expectations.
- Support analysis of data flows, data structures, transformations, and source-to-target logic from a business perspective.
- Prepare and maintain clear documentation including requirements, process flows, business rules, data-related rules, acceptance criteria, and supporting artifacts.
- Validate delivered functionality, reports, dashboards, or data outputs against business expectations and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate stakeholder discussions, clarify ambiguity, manage expectations, and ensure shared understanding across business and technical teams.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst preferably in data-driven, backend, platform, reporting, or analytics-related environments.
- Expertise in requirements elicitation, business process analysis, stakeholder communication, documentation, and acceptance criteria definition.
- Capability to work at the intersection of Business Analysis and Data with willingness to deepen knowledge in technical areas.
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, validation, business logic clarification, and investigation of system behavior.
- Familiarity with Power BI or other data analysis tools, data platforms, and ETL processes.
- Skills in data validation, modeling, maintaining data structures and data flows, and creating and testing Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Understanding of backend systems, data platforms, and integrations including data exchange formats such as JSON/XML.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, engineering, data and BI specialists, QA, delivery managers, and vendors.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, ownership, and ability to work with ambiguity.
- Advanced English proficiency preferably C1 level for client-facing communication, workshops, documentation, and stakeholder alignment.
