About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (Data Engineering & Analytics) to join a long-term enterprise BI modernization program. The role is remote and based in EMEA. The environment spans both legacy Microsoft and Cognos technologies as well as modern Azure and Databricks-based data engineering platforms.

The role focuses on legacy BI modernization, cube and report migration, ongoing support, and optimization of existing Microsoft- and Cognos-based analytics environments. You will work closely with an established delivery team supporting large-scale reporting and data platform initiatives.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and enhance enterprise BI solutions
Analyze existing reporting, ETL, and data warehouse solutions
Build, maintain, and optimize enterprise data pipelines and transformation processes
Develop and support semantic models, cubes, and reporting solutions
Troubleshoot production issues across the enterprise analytics stack
Participate in analytics modernization and migration initiatives
Optimize reporting performance, data processing, and solution reliability
Collaborate with architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders
Utilize AI-assisted agentic tools to accelerate analysis, documentation, and development while validating all generated outputs

Requirements

5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise Business Intelligence solutions
Strong SQL development skills and experience working with relational databases and enterprise data warehouses
Experience with ETL/ELT development using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, or comparable enterprise data integration platforms
Experience with enterprise reporting tools such as Tableau or equivalent platforms
Ability to analyze existing enterprise BI solutions, troubleshoot production issues, and implement enhancements
Experience working across multiple layers of the BI stack, including data integration, databases, semantic models, and reporting
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience using AI-assisted agentic tools to improve productivity while validating all generated output
Professional English communication skills, both written and spoken

Nice to Have

Experience with IBM DataStage for ETL/ELT development
Experience with enterprise reporting and analytics tools such as Cognos, ThoughtSpot, Power BI, SSRS, or equivalent solutions
Experience with semantic models, OLAP technologies, SSAS Multidimensional models, or comparable analytical platforms
