About the Position
We are seeking a skilled and client-focused Senior Data Analytics Engineer to join our dynamic team.
We are building a highly scalable data platform for our customer, a leading asset management firm and hedge fund. To support our client, we require additional data analysts to deliver standardized data pipeline products and related services such as data profiling and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistical analysis and exploratory data analysis, along with expertise in using diverse data sources and formats like databases, FTP servers, and various file types. Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, is highly desirable. This position involves interacting with clients to understand their needs and deliver actionable insights, requiring excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Integrate data from multiple sources like databases, FTP servers, and diverse file formats to create unified datasets for analysis
- Perform data profiling to assess data quality, structure, completeness, and relationships within datasets
- Design and optimize scalable data processing systems and pipelines for efficient data transformation
- Engage with clients to understand requirements, present findings, and deliver insights tailored to their needs
- Interpret complex data challenges using critical thinking and propose innovative solutions
- Keep up with evolving trends and technologies in data analysis and identify areas for improvement
Requirements
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python for data manipulation
- Proficiency in SQL for extracting and manipulating data from databases
- Background in roles like Data Analyst-Engineer, with a portfolio showcasing relevant projects
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS services like S3, Glue, EMR, and Athena
- Experience working with data formats like CSV, Excel, JSON, and XML across diverse sources such as databases and FTP servers
- Familiarity with Airflow and Snowflake
- Strong communication and presentation skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to take initiative and demonstrate a high level of ownership
- Competency in analytical and problem-solving tasks with close attention to detail
- Flexibility to work independently or collaboratively in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities
- Experience in client-facing roles, especially in Finance or Asset Management, is advantageous
