About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to define target-state data architecture for an APAC transformation before engineering teams begin implementations. You will set defensible patterns for platforms, country data lakes, integration, and consumption while balancing global Snowflake alignment with local data residency and privacy needs.
Responsibilities
- Define target-state architecture across regional platform, country data lakes, integration, and consumption layer
- Align APAC architecture with the global Snowflake program using clear decision records
- Define per-country data lake strategy based on maturity, systems, and regulatory requirements
- Establish architecture governance including principles, standards, reference patterns, and decision log
- Define domain architecture for priority domains including boundaries, ownership, and interoperability
- Support solution reviews, tooling assessments, and architecture inputs to sequencing and business cases
- Partner with program and country teams to unblock architecture decisions that affect delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience leading enterprise data architecture for multi-country cloud data platform programs
- Hands-on Snowflake architecture experience or strong ability to architect for Snowflake-based platforms
- Deep knowledge of lakehouse patterns, ELT, integration architectures, and consumption design (BI, analytics, APIs)
- Experience designing for data residency and privacy constraints across APAC jurisdictions
- Insurance or financial services data landscape knowledge including policy, claims, finance, or regulatory reporting
- Ability to explain and defend architecture decisions to technical and business stakeholders
- Clear communication across global and regional teams
Nice to Have
- Experience integrating heterogeneous estates including acquired systems
- Familiarity with metadata, data quality, and governance tooling
- Cloud platform certifications for Snowflake or Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
