About the Position
Are you a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, capable of owning and implementing solutions from start to finish? Do you enjoy tackling the challenge of solving complex Big Data analytics problems using state-of-the-art technologies?
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our growing global team of data engineering professionals. You will play a key role in building robust, scalable data-driven solutions that support critical decision-making processes for our Property & Casualty business domain.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge Data Transformation projects that utilize Big Data and Machine Learning to solve emerging challenges.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines and data-driven solutions to support robust analytics and business decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, align on data needs, and ensure seamless delivery of solutions
- Implement data modeling, documentation, and optimization strategies to streamline performance and usability
- Develop data analytics tools and dashboards to effectively communicate insights and trends
- Leverage modern coding languages like Python or TypeScript to create reliable and maintainable software components
- Ensure data accuracy, validation, and monitoring processes are automated and efficient
- Apply Agile methodologies, including Scrum, to expedite project delivery and enhance collaboration
- Take ownership of projects, driving them from inception to completion with minimal oversight
- Solve complex Big Data problems using advanced technologies like Palantir Foundry and Machine Learning techniques
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in data and technology
- Expertise in modern coding languages like Python or TypeScript
- Familiarity with SQL and relational database concepts
- Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools
- Background in Scrum and Agile development approaches
- Understanding of building data-driven applications with storytelling capabilities
- Good communication skills in English to articulate complex ideas effectively to non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Palantir Foundry and Microsoft Power BI
- Experience with Machine Learning or Generative AI
- Knowledge of PySpark for large-scale data processing
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Gradle
- Knowledge of the insurance domain, the financial industry, or finance functions within other industries
