Deutsche Telekom IT and Telecommunications Slovakia is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team. This role is full-time and can be performed remotely from Slovakia. The position requires proficiency in English, with German being an advantage.

Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining data architectures, including databases and large-scale processing systems. You will work closely with our Data and Analytics teams to ensure these architectures meet the business's needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex data elements, systems, data flow, dependencies, and relationships to contribute to conceptual, physical, and logical data models.
• Design, build, implement, and maintain database structures to support business needs, including integrating vendor database solutions.
• Contribute to capacity planning to identify necessary hardware, software, and database configurations.
• Manage the lifecycle of multiple database tools, enabling smooth upgrades and new capabilities.
• Perform data munging, manipulation, cleansing, and blending from various sources.
• Work with data to solve business problems and build infrastructure for data-driven decision-making.
• Develop and manage scalable data processing platforms for exploratory data analysis and real-time analytics.
• Oversee junior data engineers, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

You Will Succeed If You:

• Hold a Master’s degree in Information Technologies.
• Have 5+ years of experience in ICT Analysis, Architecture & Design.
• Have expert-level experience with Cloud solutions (preferably GCP, Azure, or AWS) in data processing.
• Have advanced experience with Machine Learning.
• Have expert-level experience with Data Analytics and visualization.
• Have expert-level experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., MapReduce, Hive, HDFS, YARN, HBase, Oozie).
• Have advanced experience with Data processing methods (Kafka, Spark).
• Have advanced experience with Data streaming and Data warehousing.
• Have advanced experience with SQL and NoSQL Databases.
• Have advanced experience with programming and scripting.
• Have advanced knowledge of Data mining techniques.
• Possess analytical thinking, team management, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, innovation, effective communication, and stress tolerance.
• Speak English at an Advanced (C1) level, with Intermediate (B1) German being advantageous.

Nice to Have

• Experience with ML tools such as Tensorflow, Pytorch.
• Knowledge of programming languages used in ML (e.g., Python, R).
• Knowledge of distributed filesystems.

Salary

The final salary is negotiable and will not be lower than 3100€ /brutto. In addition to the base salary, we offer a variable part and other financial benefits.

Please note that our remote working possibility is only available within Slovakia due to European taxation regulations.
