About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist for NielsenIQ's Data Science Clients Team to work in Greater China and the Asia Pacific Region, focusing on consumer goods and non-perishable items.
Responsibilities
- Data Analyst: Serve as the key contact point between data science and commercial teams, helping the commercial team understand retail products and methodologies.
- Support clients' business needs while driving internal product enhancements.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends and opportunities for further study.
- Work closely with clients to explain study aspects and data insights.
- Respond to client questions regarding data irregularities and methodologies.
- Create clear insights and visualizations to answer key questions about data behavior.
- Engage and align with multiple stakeholders on data requirements and study designs.
Main Accountabilities
- Collaborate with key account clients to ensure their data requirements are met and they are satisfied with NielsenIQ’s retail analysis methodology.
- Conduct studies within NielsenIQ to update, improve, and create new data requirements for clients.
- Translate client requirements into intelligent insights using NielsenIQ’s data.
- Contribute to creating best practices for the country/cluster/region and share them with other data departments.
- Improve products through active engagement with the Data Science team.
Requirements

Essential:
- Excellent at applying creative solutions to business problems using data and software.
- 1-2 years of experience in solving business problems in fields like consumer goods (FMCG), cosmetics, or non-perishable items.
- Proficient in Python or R, as well as Excel.
- Knowledge of SQL or other database querying tools, and managing large-scale databases.

Preferred:
- Experience with facing clients and discussing solutions.
- Good knowledge of statistical practices such as sampling, projection, and statistical modeling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Operations Research, or Econometrics with outstanding analytical expertise and strong technical leadership.
- Knowledge of visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Fluent Mandarin and good English.
Nice to Have
- Experience in consulting or market analysis.
- Fluency in Mandarin and good English.
