Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

We are looking for a long-term employee or contractor who will support ongoing development efforts in the following project:

Development of Board Management Software

Our client, a leading German automotive manufacturer, needed a solution that would not only become a single source of truth for decisions taking place in the entire organization but also ensure good corporate governance. This is made possible with a custom-built web application that fits in the category of board management software.

• Location: 100% remote or office in Krakow, Poznan, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Zielona Gora

About the Position

As a Senior DevOps Engineer on the Automotive team at Astec IT Services, you will help develop intranet web applications that support our client, a leading automobile manufacturer from Germany, in their daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Configure AWS services for client-specific software packages
• Analyze and maintain security configurations (e.g., firewall rules) needed to run software in accordance with the client’s corporate standards
• Create tasks for other teams to perform actions on the client’s infrastructure
• Investigate performance issues and non-obvious problems on production environments
• Document the architecture and write operations instructions in accordance with the C4 model and PMBOK guidelines
• Analyze the impact that functional requirements have on other parts of the system
• Configure test automation in pipelines, including automated security testing tools
• Analyze requirements, create concepts, and discuss them with the client
• Advise clients in the area of DevOps best practices
• Technical knowledge transfer and communication within the project teams
• Regular participation in client meetings

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD concepts
• Experience with public cloud platforms
• Experience in operations of software running on production environments
• Knowledge about public cloud architecture best practices
• Ability to work with other teams of professionals that might be limited by their own instructions
• Ability to confidently communicate with clients
• Good knowledge of the English language (level B2 or better)

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of web application security
• Ability to administer Linux systems
• Demonstrated success as part of a distributed team
• Knowledge of the German language (B1 or better)
