Senior Director of Data Consulting

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Director of Data Consulting to join our remote team in Colombia.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of enterprise data platforms and solutions that align with business objectives and long-term vision
• Define and architect data frameworks such as data lakes, advanced analytics platforms, and reporting solutions using leading cloud providers and modern data technologies
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, Solution Architects, and technical teams to translate business needs into scalable and future-ready data architectures
• Advise clients on data strategy, governance, and operating models to create efficient and sustainable data ecosystems aligned with their requirements
• Lead consulting engagements and presales activities, demonstrating expertise in data engineering, data management, and analytics
• Assess existing data environments, pinpoint gaps, and recommend improvements for data quality, accessibility, and governance
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management, AI/ML, and cloud solutions, and apply these insights to client projects
• Create and deploy accelerators, blueprints, and open-source tools to enhance EPAM’s Data Service Offerings
• Ensure compliance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices, maintaining quality-driven code and effective CI/CD processes
• Communicate complex technical concepts and strategies effectively to technical and non-technical audiences, enabling stakeholder alignment and informed decisions
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on data technology and strategy

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in IT with at least 10 years in a related role such as Data Technology Consultant or Data Architect in enterprise data initiatives
• Participation in 10 or more projects or involvement in launching at least 3 products or key product capabilities to market
• Proven capability to manage teams of 70 or more FTEs or smaller teams with significant business impact
• Expertise in data platforms and cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Hands-on proficiency with data processing frameworks such as Databricks and MS Fabric for large-scale data projects
• Competency in SQL and Python for data engineering and analytics tasks
• Background in Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, and data quality tools to ensure reliable data
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies, including natural language processing and computer vision
• Understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, and quality-focused software development practices
• Knowledge of data architecture, data lifecycle management, and enterprise data product design
• Experience delivering large-scale data solutions, including data lakes, analytics platforms, and reporting systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design and implement innovative data solutions
• Proven ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to define and execute effective data strategies
• Track record of managing and delivering complex data projects with measurable business outcomes
• Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively
• Fluency in English at C1 level, with strong written and spoken communication skills
• Background in consulting, including stakeholder management, client relationship development, and communication of technical topics
• Familiarity with industry trends and the ability to conduct market and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions
