About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Director of Data Consulting to join our remote team in Colombia.
This leadership role offers the chance to shape data-driven strategies for global clients and influence enterprise data solution directions. Responsibilities
- Supervise the design, development, and implementation of enterprise data platforms and solutions aligned with business goals and future vision
- Establish and develop data frameworks like data lakes, advanced analytics platforms, and reporting tools using leading cloud providers and modern data processing technologies
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, Solution Architects, and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable and future-focused data architectures
- Advise clients on data strategy, governance, and operating models to create efficient and sustainable data environments tailored to their needs
- Lead consulting engagements and presales scenarios by demonstrating robust knowledge in data engineering, data management, and analytics
- Analyze current data environments, identify deficiencies, and propose enhancements for data quality, accessibility, and governance
- Monitor industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in data management, AI/ML, and cloud solutions, applying these to client projects
- Support the development and deployment of accelerators, templates, and open-source tools to enhance EPAM’s Data Service Offerings
- Promote adherence to SDLC best practices, ensuring high-quality code and streamlined CI/CD processes
- Simplify and communicate technical strategies and concepts to facilitate alignment and decision-making among stakeholders
- Build and maintain productive client relationships, offering trusted advice on data technology and strategy
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in IT, with 10+ years in roles like Data Technology Consultant or Data Architect for enterprise data projects
- Completion of at least 10 projects or delivery of 3 or more market-impacting products or capabilities
- Proven ability to lead teams of 70+ FTEs, or smaller teams with significant business outcomes
- Advanced knowledge of data platforms and cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Proficiency in data processing tools such as Databricks and MS Fabric for large-scale data solutions
- Skills in SQL and Python for data engineering and analytics
- Understanding of Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, and data quality tools
- Familiarity with AI/ML technologies like natural language processing and computer vision
- Insight into SDLC, CI/CD, and practices for producing quality-centered software
- Expertise in data architecture, data lifecycle, and enterprise data product design
- Direct experience with large-scale data systems, including data lakes and analytics platforms
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills with a record of deploying inventive data solutions
- Ability to collaborate across technical and business teams to frame and execute effective data strategies
- Track record of managing and delivering complex data solutions that drive measurable business benefits
- Organizational skills to manage competing priorities and complex projects
- Proficiency in English at C1 level, including excellent written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of consulting, including building stakeholder relationships and translating technical ideas into business language
- Competency in analyzing market and competitor trends to guide strategic decisions
