Responsibilities

• Shape the frontend architecture. Collaborate on the design and evolution of the portal presentation layer, helping ensure it remains modular, scalable, secure and maintainable as products and usage grow.
• Turn complex data into trusted experiences. Build intuitive interfaces and visualizations that make Earth observation data understandable and actionable for customers.
• Set the engineering standard. Establish best practices for React, TypeScript, component architecture, testing, accessibility, API integration, authentication and data protection, ensuring the frontend architecture aligns with applicable requirements such as GDPR and the EU AI Act.
• Deliver end to end. Partner with UX/UI, backend, cloud, data and DevOps teams to move products from definition to reliable, integrated releases.
• Provide technical leadership. Collaborate on the frontend roadmap, document architectural decisions, mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and help balance delivery priorities with technical debt.
• Build for production at scale. Strengthen quality and reliability through automated testing, observability, feature flags, progressive deployment and rollback strategies, while evaluating tools that improve developer productivity.

Requirements

• Relevant product experience: 6+ years in web software development, with substantial ownership of customer-facing portals or products in a SaaS or ISV environment.
• Deep frontend expertise: advanced JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML/CSS and React, with Tailwind CSS or comparable UI component libraries.
• Architecture at scale: a track record of designing modular, highly available, cloud-native applications and making technical decisions across cross-functional teams.
• Integration and security: strong REST API experience, familiarity with gRPC, WebSockets or OData, and sound knowledge of authentication, authorization, data protection, SOLID principles and clean frontend architecture.
• Quality and reliability: experience defining frontend testing strategy and automated CI quality gates, alongside observability, feature flags, progressive delivery and rollback practices.
• Technical leadership: confidence documenting architectural decisions, shaping a roadmap, mentoring colleagues, leading code reviews and discussing technical debt pragmatically with Product.
• Communication and education: excellent English and Spanish, plus a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Figma; imagery, GIS or map libraries; AI-assisted development and coding agents; international multidisciplinary teams; internal design systems, Storybook and accessibility; product analytics and experimentation; or developer-experience automation such as preview environments, codemods and monorepos. A master's degree or relevant frontend certifications are also welcome.
