About the Role

As a Senior Java Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications that support critical business operations. You will be a valued member of the technology team and work collaboratively with architects, business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional delivery teams to build reliable, secure, and high-performing solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
Build and enhance scalable Microservices and RESTful APIs that support complex business processes.
Integrate applications with Oracle databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and optimized SQL execution.
Develop and support messaging solutions using JMS, Kafka, or similar event-driven technologies.
Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver high-quality software through continuous improvement, code reviews, testing, and DevOps best practices.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in São Paulo, SP. Requirements

6+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
Experience designing and implementing Microservices and RESTful APIs.
Strong experience with Oracle databases, SQL development, and performance tuning.
Experience with messaging technologies such as JMS, Kafka, or similar platforms.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD practices, and software development best practices.
Advanced English communication skills.

Nice to Have

Experience within Financial Services domains such as Trading, Capital Markets, or Wealth Management.
Exposure to Generative AI tools and frameworks, including GitHub Copilot, OpenAI, Gemini, or similar technologies.
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with DevOps tools, automation, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
Experience contributing to application architecture and technical strategy discussions.
