About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with over 10 years of experience to join our cloud-native team in California, enhancing insurance system robustness.

About the Customer

The customer works on a modern, cloud-native platform that provides core systems for insurers, including policy administration, underwriting, and claims management. The platform is designed to enhance agility, efficiency, and innovation for insurance companies. It offers features such as real-time data access for high-quality reporting and advanced analytics, and supports rapid product launches and updates.

The client is focused on reimagining and reinventing technology for insurance, one of the world’s largest and most technologically neglected industries. They aim to provide insurers with a flexible and scalable platform that streamlines operations, enhances customer experiences, and supports growth and success in a rapidly changing industry.

About the Opportunity

The customer is now looking for a Senior Java Developer to join their Backend team and help to make the billing side of the insurance system even more robust. The ideal candidate should be mature and able to make the decisions on their own if needed.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications using Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Implement and maintain APIs, ensuring they are robust, secure, and well-documented.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality if needed.
• Utilize GitHub for version control and participate in code reviews.
• Manage project tasks and workflows using Jira and document technical solutions in Confluence.
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes with Jenkins.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot (10+ years of experience).
• Knowledge and understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Proficiency with GitHub, Jira, Confluence, and Jenkins.
• Solid understanding of unit testing and integration testing frameworks and practices.
• Experience with API design and development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both collaboratively in a team environment and independently if needed.
• Knowledge of AWS will be a plus.
• English level: Upper intermediate.

Please be advised that the majority of the team is located in California and you should be able to participate in daily calls at 18.45 pm CET.
