Senior Java Developer – Electronic Pricing (Equity)

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer – Electronic Pricing (Equity) to join our financial services team in NYC. This role involves building real-time pricing APIs to support our Sales desk.

Location: NYC (Hybrid – at least 3 days onsite/week)

Visa Sponsorship: We offer sponsorship under specific treaty-based U.S. work visas, including TN and E-2 (for eligible Canadian, Mexican, and French citizens). We do not support or transfer other visa types (e.g., H-1B).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java-based pricing services and APIs
• Build and integrate REST APIs with internal pricing engines and downstream systems
• Contribute to the overall application and integration architecture
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and solutions
• Work closely with Sales, Trading, IT, and other technology teams
• Understand pricing workflows and support near-real-time client pricing requests
• Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability
• Provide technical leadership and potentially support more junior developers as the team grows
• Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and stakeholder meetings

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of software development experience
• Strong Java development expertise
• Strong experience designing and integrating REST APIs
• Strong understanding of application and integration architecture
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders
• Ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions
• Capital Markets experience
• Good understanding of Equity products, particularly options and derivatives
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or Quantitative Finance

Nice to Have

• Experience with electronic pricing or real-time pricing applications
• Experience integrating with pricing engines
• Previous experience supporting Sales or Trading desks
• Technical leadership or mentoring experience
