We are looking for a Senior / Middle Software Development Engineer to join the Build Acceleration Team and help accelerate and optimize build processes for Windows OS and Engineering Systems. The role focuses on improving build performance, security, and reliability by reducing technical debt, cleaning up unused code, and eliminating Foreign Checked-In Binaries (FCIBs), with Project Streamline as a core area of responsibility.
Locations: Fully remote from Serbia, Egypt, Bulgaria, Croatia, or Poland, or from our offices in Belgrade, Gdynia, or Cairo. This position is not open to U.S.-based applicants.
Responsibilities
- Run and maintain Project Streamline workflows to clean up Windows OS codebase
- Identify, analyze, and prioritize FCIBs and unused code for removal
- Create and validate PRs using Streamline tooling and CI pipelines
- Collaborate with code-owning teams, follow up on PR reviews, and drive changes to completion
- Monitor OS branch health after check-ins; investigate issues, apply fixes, or revert changes when needed
- Contribute to remediation of SFI / QEI action items for Build-related areas
- Report bugs and propose improvements for Project Streamline tooling
Requirements – Middle Level
- 3–4 years of software development experience
- Practical experience with C# and PowerShell
- Basic knowledge of C++
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and PR-based workflows
- Attention to quality, stability, and impact of changes
Additional Requirements – Senior Level
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Strong expertise in C#, confident use of PowerShell, and working knowledge of C++
- Experience working with large-scale repositories and complex build systems
- Solid understanding of security risks such as FCIB, code integrity, and MSRC-related issues
- Proven experience collaborating across multiple engineering teams
- Ability to independently drive initiatives and mentor less experienced engineers
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Windows OS repositories
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps (AzDO) Pipelines
- Background in build system optimization and performance improvements
