About the Position

Krakow-based opportunity with a hybrid work model (up to 4 days remote per week).

As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global leader in banking and financial services, within the Cybersecurity Capability Engineering team. You will play a critical role in designing and implementing advanced network security solutions, ensuring robust defenses across diverse environments-cloud, on-premises, and containers. Responsibilities

• Design and provision network security policies aligned with zero trust principles to safeguard organizational assets.
• Implement and maintain network segmentation technologies for on-premises, cloud, and container environments.
• Document high-level and detailed network designs, procedures, and security standards.
• Conduct product evaluations and proof of concepts on emerging network security technologies.
• Collaborate with vendors on product issues, including design, features, and defect resolution.
• Support deployment, testing, and maintenance of security agents using enterprise deployment tools.
• Troubleshoot complex network environments, providing detailed analysis and remediation strategies.
• Coordinate activities with other system areas and vendors for system planning, upgrades, and testing.
• Support regulatory compliance by implementing solutions that meet organizational and industry standards.
• Transfer knowledge through formal training sessions, team workshops, and mentoring activities.
• Apply technical expertise to improve detection capabilities and response strategies for cyber threats.
• Lead the delivery of product enhancements, ensuring timely and quality outcomes.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in designing and implementing network segmentation strategies for on-premises, cloud, and container environments.
• Proficiency with leading firewall technologies such as Checkpoint, ASA, or host-based firewalls like Illumio and Guardicore in large, complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and technologies including IDS/IPS, web application security, vulnerability scanners, and anti-malware systems.
• Hands-on experience with Linux administration and scripting in Python.
• Familiarity with modern agile practices such as Scrum, version control, CI/CD, and DevOps.
• Excellent network troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues swiftly.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and aggressive timelines.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Proven ability to lead project delivery and drive product improvements.

Nice to Have

• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
• Experience with additional security tools and frameworks.

Language Required for the role

• Fluent in English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
