About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Operations & Application Support Engineer to join our team in Strasbourg, France. In this role, you will lead major incident resolutions, enhance service reliability, and drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Operations & Application Support Engineer, you will:
- Lead the resolution of major incidents and complex production issues, ensuring effective stakeholder communication and timely service restoration.
- Conduct and lead root cause analyses, post-incident reviews, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Define and continuously improve monitoring, observability, and operational support strategies to enhance service reliability.
- Drive proactive maintenance, operational optimization, capacity planning, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Validate deployment, testing, and rollback strategies in collaboration with DevSecOps, Architecture, and Database Administration teams.
- Prepare operational reports, trend analyses, capacity assessments, and service improvement recommendations.
- Lead automation and operational efficiency initiatives through scripting, tooling, and process optimization.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to support teams while fostering operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise IT operations, including at least 3 years in a senior operations or support role.
- Deep knowledge of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Event, and Capacity Management.
- Extensive experience with Linux/Unix environments, containerized and cloud-native platforms, and CI/CD ecosystems.
- Strong expertise in observability, logging, performance monitoring, and operational analytics tools.
- Proven experience supporting middleware and integration technologies, including API management, messaging, event streaming, identity management, and web platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex incident management, capacity planning, operational risk assessment, and service improvement programs.
- Excellent communication skills in English, French is an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as ITIL Intermediate/Managing Professional, advanced Linux, cloud platform, Kubernetes, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
Work Arrangement
- Location: Onsite/Hybrid in Strasbourg only.
- On-call services: Around 7% expected.
