Wroclaw-based opportunity with remote work (1 day/month from office)

As a Senior Oracle / Python Data Engineering Specialist, you will be working for our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, committed to innovative data solutions and operational excellence. Your expertise will help design and optimize data architectures, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability of critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Support and collaborate with architects to develop robust information system architectures based on database technology.
• Design and create database structures tailored to project needs.
• Implement advanced functionalities within Oracle databases and Python applications.
• Optimize SQL/PLSQL queries, resolve performance bottlenecks, and ensure data consistency.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for database solutions.
• Lead testing procedures, including automated tests, to ensure system reliability.
• Contribute to establishing standards for database design and documentation.
• Support the evolution of data processing solutions and participate in technical problem-solving.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years experience in PL/SQL or Python development.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, and tuning techniques.
• Proven experience in high-volume data processing and performance optimization.
• Skilled in Python development, including FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, Polars, and oracledb.
• Experience with system integration, version control (Git), and documentation.
• Sound understanding of security principles and full software lifecycle management.
• Good communication skills in Polish; English proficiency is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience with near real-time systems and high-availability architectures.
• Industry experience in energy, power systems, or related fields.
• Knowledge of data transformation formats like XML and JSON.
• Familiarity with auditability and compliance requirements for data solutions.

Language Required for the role

• Polish: Good command required
• English: Communicative proficiency

Eligibility for the role

• Only candidates with an existing legal right to work in the European Union will be considered for this role.
