Employment Type
Full time
Responsibilities
- Own the research behind what we build - user needs, behavior in the current product, and the competitive landscape
- Turn findings into a clear, defensible product thesis the team can build from
- Produce high-fidelity, build-ready designs and clickable prototypes using AI design tools
- Define the end-to-end user journey, from first discovery of the feature to repeat use
- Keep new surfaces consistent with the existing product's design system and patterns
- Own a single prioritized backlog with clear sequencing, scope, and honest timelines
- Write developer-ready specs with acceptance criteria, edge cases, and measurable outcomes
- Run planning and delivery with the engineering team through to verified release
- Verify shipped work against spec, and reject what falls short of standard
- Define the metric tree for the feature - discovery, activation, task completion, repeat use
- Own the experiment roadmap: prioritize, instrument, read results, and act on them
- Build and maintain the dashboards you and the business make decisions from
- Collaborate with the Managing Director to align the roadmap with business goals
Requirements
- 5+ years in product management on live consumer web products with a substantial active user base
- Proven track record shipping a significant new capability inside an existing product, not only standalone launches
- Demonstrated ability to run discovery yourself - user research, behavioral analysis, and competitor analysis
- Advanced, daily use of AI tools to produce high-fidelity, build-ready designs and clickable prototypes without a dedicated designer
- Strong quantitative skills: funnels, cohorts, and experiment design in a product analytics tool (Mixpanel, Amplitude, or equivalent), with working SQL
- Experience writing technical specs and running backlog and sprint delivery end to end (Jira, Linear, Notion, or equivalent)
- Working technical fluency: able to discuss implementation trade-offs with engineers credibly
- Evidence-driven - you can show the data or the test behind every product decision you defend
- Highly structured operator - builds repeatable research, spec, and experiment systems
- Comfortable being the only product person in the room, and making the call
- Clear, direct communicator who operates effectively in a remote environment
