Senior QA Automation Engineer - Java/Selenium (Remote)

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer / SDET to join an international engineering project focused on improving test automation, performance testing, CI/CD reliability, and release confidence. You will work on a technically challenging environment where automation, performance optimization, and modern engineering practices are key. A strong interest in and practical use of AI in software engineering and testing is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Refactor and improve the existing load testing suite
• Reduce the execution time of load tests from approximately 16 hours to under 4 hours
• Migrate remaining automated test suites from Jenkins to GitHub Actions
• Enhance and maintain the GUI regression test suite
• Identify gaps, issues, and opportunities for improvement in the existing test automation
• Improve release confidence, reliability, and overall test coverage
• Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and other technical stakeholders
• Use AI tools effectively to identify issues, gaps, potential improvements, and accelerate day-to-day engineering and testing activities

Requirements

Must-have

• Strong commercial experience in test automation / Quality Engineering / SDET / Backend Engineering
• Strong Java and/or Groovy skills, with solid hands-on experience in automation
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites
• Strong understanding of software quality and test automation principles
• Practical and advanced use of AI tools in day-to-day engineering/testing work
• Ability to independently analyze existing solutions and identify areas for improvement

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD
• Serenity BDD

• Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD migration projects
• Experience with performance/load testing
