Senior SAP Integration Developer / Consultant

About the Position

IT Craft invites a Senior SAP Integration Developer / Consultant to collaborate on a project for a European B2B product company. The cooperation will begin in a consultancy format, focusing on evaluating available SAP integration options, defining suitable approaches, and identifying the SAP functionality and configuration required on the client side.

About the Project

The client develops an enterprise platform that automates the processing of financial and tax-related data and documents. The platform receives invoice and expense data together with supporting documents from corporate source systems. It processes and validates the information, performs tax-related calculations, and returns the results either to the source platform or directly to the relevant accounting system.

SAP Integration Scope

The client is currently evaluating SAP integrations in two areas:

• Retrieving Accounts Payable invoice data and related documents from SAP.
• Returning calculated tax and accounting inputs required for posting transactions in SAP.

The client needs to determine suitable integration approaches for both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, taking into account differences in client-specific SAP configurations and levels of customization.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the scope agreed during the consultancy stage, responsibilities may include:

• Analyze available integration options for SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA across both required data flows.
• Recommend suitable integration approaches for different client environments.
• Assess how different levels of SAP customization may affect the integration.
• Define the SAP functionality and configuration required to enable the integration.
• Guide clients on the relevant SAP settings and configuration.
• Design and implement the retrieval of Accounts Payable invoice data and documents from SAP.
• Design and implement the transfer of calculated tax and accounting inputs required for posting transactions in SAP.
• Collaborate directly with the client and other stakeholders involved in the integration.

Required Skills

• Senior-level experience in SAP technical consulting, development, or integration projects.
• Deep understanding of available integration options for both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing similar integrations between SAP and external systems.
• Strong understanding of SAP FI and Accounts Payable processes, including SAP VAT calculations, tax codes, and relevant accounting principles.
• Ability to evaluate different integration options and recommend an appropriate approach for each client environment.
• Ability to assess client-specific SAP customizations and determine how they affect the integration.
• Experience advising clients on SAP functionality and configuration required to support integrations.
• Ability to combine technical consulting with hands-on solution design and implementation.
