Senior Software Developer, Search Platform

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer for our Search Platform in Montréal, Quebec. Join us to enhance our big data applications and contribute to our mission-driven work.

Responsibilities

• Design large scale distributed and resilient systems with high complexity to support our big data applications
• Leverage cloud, database and AI infrastructure to solve such large scale problems
• Conduct feasibility studies for upgraded software systems
• Maintain our product’s existing data systems while designing and supporting migrations that enable us to bring it to the next level without compromising on its current operations
• Design new software programs, data flows, and applications
• Use and automate new processes to keep a tested and high quality code base

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building large scale data systems
• Experience using large SQL or Elasticsearch databases to solve complex data engineering problems
• Experience with some of the following technologies: Python 3, Flask, JavaScript, VueJS, Amazon Web Services, RabbitMQ and Kubernetes
• Experience designing scalable and complex database queries
• Ability to learn a variety of technologies quickly
• Ability to consistently deliver value over time by iterating on solutions
• Ability to support less experienced developer within their area of expertise
• Ability to communicate their decisions and tradeoffs about their designs
