Job description

About the Position

Join ServiceNow's Security Organization as a Senior Staff Technical Program Manager to lead security initiatives and ensure timely delivery of security programs.

PLEASE NOTE This role has a minimum of 2 days per week in Santa Clara or San Diego offices requirement.

If you are unable to come into the Santa Clara office a minimum of 2 days per week, please do not apply. Thank you.

Responsibilities

The ServiceNow Security Organization (SSO) delivers world-class, innovative security solutions to reduce risk and protect the company and our customers. This role exists so Product Security's technical programs land on time. It takes security strategy and turns it into defined workstreams with a credible sequence, then drives them to measured closure, and is technical enough to argue that sequencing and its tradeoffs directly with senior leaders rather than relaying them.

Five areas owned end to end:

  • Strategy to workstream translation. Takes strategic direction and ambiguous initiatives and decomposes them into defined workstreams with owners, dependencies, milestones, and a defensible sequence. Owns the "how and in what order," including what must be true before a workstream can start and what gets staged versus run in parallel.
  • Technical program delivery. Secure-by-default initiatives, tooling rollouts, and remediation campaigns from intake through closure and measurement. Owns the plan, the sequencing, and the outcome, not just the tracking.
  • Cross-team dependency and release coordination. Launches, sequencing, and critical-path management where Product Security gates an engineering ship.
  • Engineering-facing delivery escalation. The first stop when security work is blocked or contested. Resolves at the engineering level wherever possible and escalates with a recommendation when it cannot.

Requirements

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
  • 12 years of technical program or project management, with 3+ in security, product security, or a closely adjacent technical domain.
  • Hands-on software development background, or enough time embedded with engineering teams to read a codebase, follow an architecture discussion, and challenge an engineering estimate without translation.
  • Demonstrated ability to take an ambiguous strategic goal and produce a sequenced, resourced delivery plan that stakeholders commit to, including saying when the stated timeline is not achievable.
  • Experience in a large-scale product engineering organization shipping continuously at high volume, with the dependency and release complexity that comes with it.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive delivery through teams that do not report to them, including holding a release or negotiating an exception under pressure.
  • Familiarity with Secure Development Lifecycle frameworks such as NIST 800-218, BSIMM, and Microsoft SDL.
  • Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle frameworks such as Agile, Scrum, and CI/CD.
  • Bachelor's in a technical or related field (CS, engineering, information security) or equivalent practical experience.
